As part of ‘Animal Adoption Programme,’ the State Bank of India (SBI) Hyderabad circle adopted a total of 15 tigers at Nehru Zoological Park under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) on Friday.

Bahadurpura: As part of 'Animal Adoption Programme,' the State Bank of India (SBI) Hyderabad circle adopted a total of 15 tigers at Nehru Zoological Park under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) on Friday.

SBI DGM & CDO K V Bangar Raju presented a cheque for Rs 15 lakh to Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Head of Forest Force), Telangana, R Shoba, in the presence of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Director (FAC), Zoo Parks, Dr Sidhanand Kukrety, Nehru Zoological Park Curator N Kshitija and other officials at the tiger enclosure in the zoo.

Later, they took a round of the zoo and appreciated the maintenance of animal enclosures, animal health and cleanliness of the zoo park. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sidhanand Kukrety expressed gratitude to the officials of SBI for showing keen interest in adopting the tigers for the consecutive 6th year, thereby strengthening the wildlife conservation and awareness programme of the zoo park. He also appealed to all the banks and other corporates to come forward in more number towards the animal adoption scheme in the zoo park.

While KV Bangar Raju said that he is impressed with the maintenance and the way animals are being taking care in Nehru Zoological Park and that he has visited to many Zoo across the country, but this zoo was the best in all aspects.

N Kshitija also appreciated the efforts of the SBI staff for being a valuable member of Zoo family and for continuing the relationship with the Hyderabad zoo and also hoped that their initiative towards conservation of wildlife will inspire and interest many other corporates and individuals. She urged the people and organizations to take part in this journey of conservation, breeding, education with Nehru Zoological Park.
