Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka on Sunday inaugurated the SARAS rural product exhibition and sales mela in the city on Sunday. The event, which is being organised at the HMDA Grounds near Necklace Road, serves as a platform for the talent, creativity, and self-employment opportunities of rural women.
After the inauguration, the minister visited stalls set up by women’s self-help groups from Telangana and various other states across the country. She took a keen interest in examining the handmade crafts, handloom products, traditional art forms, household items, food products, pickles, snacks, and millet-based goods created by the women.
The minister visited each stall and enquired about the unique features of the products being made. She spoke with members of women’s groups about their manufacturing processes, product quality, pricing, sales figures, and consumer feedback. She also enquired about the challenges faced in business operations, difficulties in securing markets for their products, and opportunities for further business expansion.
She explained the government’s support aimed at helping women achieve financial self-reliance and creating wider markets for the products they create through their hard work and skills. She encouraged the women to further develop their businesses and make the most of available opportunities.
