The government is planning to set up a hospital in Hyderabad for the coronavirus patients, said Health Minister Eatala Rajender after a meeting.

A sub-committee of cabinet met on Tuesday to discuss the measures to be taken to prevent coronavirus. "Several key decisions have been taken during the meeting and decided to set up the hospital for treating coronavirus patients," said the minister.

Around nine departments will be working and a nodal officer has been appointed to each department. Doctors expertised in curing lung diseases and nurses will be deployed to treat the patients, Etela Rajender said.

"The private hospitals have also been alerted. Patients suspected to having the symptoms of coronavirus can admit in the government hospitals. 300-bed isolation ward will be set up in Army Hospital in Hyderabad apart from Vikarabad chest hospital and Erragadda chest hospital," he added.
