Telangana: 1,200 passengers arrived from London identified so far

After the new strain of virus detected in UK, the Telangana government has launched an exercise to trace all the passengers arrived in the state in the last few days. So far, the government identified 1,200 passengers arrived from London.

"All the UK returnees who have been identified so far have tested negative for the virus," said Telangana Public Health Department Director G Srinivas Rao. He added that all those who arrived from London since December 24 will be identified, tested and treated.

Srinivas Rao also appealed to the passengers who arrived from UK recently to report to health department. He said that government will send medical teams to their residence to conduct tests.

Meanwhile, the state has reported 574 fresh coronavirus cases and two new deaths. The total number of coronavirus cases touched 2,83,356 and the overall recovery cases went up to 2,75,217. At present, there are 6,815 active cases out of which 4,487 are in home or institutional isolation.
