Hyderabad: The Telangana government is according special priority to the development of sports and the promotion of athletes across the state, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said.
He added that the government is committed to providing international-standard sports infrastructure, better training facilities and incentives to young athletes.
He recalled that the Chief Minister had announced plans to construct a world-class sports stadium in Hyderabad.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, attended the closing ceremony of the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) tournament held at the golf course near Golconda Fort on Saturday.
He said that the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had personally visited a relevant university in South Korea and held discussions with its vice-chancellor and sports officials. The Chief Minister had also requested that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) be signed with the university to facilitate sports training for students from Telangana. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to studying international-standard training methods and implementing successful practices in the state, he said.
