Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stated that electricity demand in Telangana has reached an all-time high, noting that consumption in the state has touched 19,892 megawatts. "Despite a demand of 20,000 megawatts, we are ensuring an uninterrupted power supply. Some leaders are confusing the public with false propaganda; we are supplying electricity according to requirements without any issues.
There is absolutely no plan to privatize the DISCOMs, Transco, or Genco, nor is there any proposal to convert these power utilities into listed companies. It is inappropriate for Harish Rao, who served as a minister for ten years, to speak in such a manner. Political leaders are making criticisms that demean the electricity department staff. Making baseless, speculative statements harms the state itself.
Electricity demand has surged significantly in the state due to the impact of El NiƱo. Who is to blame for the situation regarding the Yadadri power plant? Before setting up a power plant, one assesses the necessary coal supply; Singareni had committed to supplying Grade-9 coal to the Yadadri plant."
