Tickets for winning horses in future: KTR

Hyderabad: Performance of the party leaders whether they be MPs, MLAs or corporators will be the only criteria to decide whether they would get ticket again or not in 2022 when joint elections from Parliament to local bodies are likely to be held, TRS working president K T Rama Rao said.
He asked the newly-elected corporators to gear up for facing the next elections and focus all attention on development of their wards and constituencies.
KTR said that the party could not get the desired results but the rank and file need not get disheartened. Victory and defeat is a normal process in any elections. He said that a quick analysis has shown that there was some anger among people against many sitting corporators.
The party had replaced many candidates and it had won in all those wards. Wherever it retained the sitting members, TRS lost. He said that this mistake would not be repeated in the next Assembly or corporation elections. "Only the winning horses will get tickets," he said.
He told the new team to ensure that they carry along all those who lost the elections with them in implementing developmental activities in their wards. He advised them to bury internal differences and focus on development of their wards, remain connected with the people and popularise the government schemes among the voters.
He also asked them to counter the BJP "false and emotional propaganda" effectively. The very first task given to the newly-elected corporators is to meet all the shop owners in their wards and appeal to them to keep the shops closed till noon on Tuesday as a mark of support to the farmers' agitation. He told them to actively participate in the agitation and see bandh was successful in all lanes in the city.
