Hyderabad: Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday called for building a strong and sustained interface between educated unemployed youth and major industries, stating that the disconnect between rural talent and organised employment opportunities had emerged as a major challenge needing systematic resolution.
Addressing representatives of participating companies, educational institutions, and local officials during a preparatory meeting for the Mega Job Mela scheduled in Kodad on September 19, Uttam emphasized that unemployment among educated youth remains a severe societal issue, particularly affecting rural job seekers.
Uttam asserted that if rural youth cannot easily reach major corporate firms, authorities must bring companies closer to rural areas, which serves as the core objective of the recruitment drive.
The September 19 event is designed as a unified recruitment platform where industrial demand directly connects with rural talent, allowing qualified candidates to interact with multiple employers and compete for employment under one roof. Around 300 companies have been invited to participate in the Kodad Mega Job Mela, marking an expansion from the 200 companies that attended the previous drive organised in Huzurnagar last year.
Major corporate entities from Hyderabad and prominent industrial hubs, alongside industries operating across the erstwhile Nalgonda district, are being actively mobilised for the event.
Top employers being approached include Apollo Group, GMR, Ramky, and Mahindra and Mahindra, alongside regional cement manufacturing companies and business establishments. State Industry Minister D Sridhar Babu will hand over offer letters to selected candidates, with expectations of providing jobs to over 3,500 qualified young applicants during the event.
