Vehicles for PwD voters deployed across city
GHMC had arranged autos, mini vans and mobile vans for safe pick up and drop of the Persons with Disability (PwD) voters in co-ordination with the RTA department as part of free transport on the polling day.
Hyderabad: GHMC had arranged autos, mini vans and mobile vans for safe pick up and drop of the Persons with Disability (PwD) voters in co-ordination with the RTA department as part of free transport on the polling day. This special initiative had been flagged off at People's Plaza by West zone Zonal Commissioner Hari Chandana IAS on Wednesday.
This initiate will enable the PwD voters to register their details on VAADA app (created by GHMC) and the type of assistance they need. A total of 1,388 wheel chairs are specially made available towards mobilisation of the PwD and senior citizen voters. This mobile app makes the voting process for the differently-abled convenient and increases the accessibility factor. The app will be a boon to over 20,000 PwDs voters who will be helped by around 2,400 volunteers.
