HC asks advocates to let administrative process take course
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Thursday asked advocates opposing the proposed site for the Vikarabad district court complex to allow the issue to be decided through administrative process, observing that selection of a court site was essentially an administrative exercise.
The division bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice Ghouse Meera Mohiuddin heard a PIL filed by Vikarabad advocate Bandi Narayana and three others. The petitioners challenged the proposed 10-acre site at Billadakla/Mekalagandi for construction of the 10-plus-2 complex, claiming successive principal district and sessions Judges had found it unsuitable.
P Varun Reddy, appearing for the petitioners, suggested alternative sites at the horticulture centre in Yennepally and at Shivareddypet. He submitted that the proposed site was low-lying, had deep ditches and uneven ground; was difficult to access. He referred to earlier correspondence from district judges supporting a more convenient location near the railway station and RTC bus-stand.
