Yogi Adityanath pitches for Bhagyanagar
TRS, MIM have tacit alliance, says UP Chief Minister
Hyderabad: On the penultimate day of the campaign for the GHMC elections, one of the star campaigners for BJP, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath pitched for changing the name of Hyderabad into Bhagyanagar.
Addressing public meeting during his road show in Lal Darwaza area of the Old City, the UP Chief Minister said that only when Hyderabad becomes 'Bhagyanagar' the city will be on the road to 'vikas' (development) and if BJP comes to power in the GHMC elections, it would certainly re-Christine Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar.
He said people were asking him whether Hyderabad can be rechristened as Bhagyanagar? "Why not?' when BJP changed the name of Faizabad as Ayodhya and Allahabad, (the confluence of three rivers) to its original name, Prayagraj, why not change the name of Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar?"
Yogi Adityanath during his meetings targeted the TRS and MIM, stating that they have a tacit alliance. "TRS is ruling the city like the Nizams and have given a free hand to the MIM. Together they are looting the city's fortunes. The TRS enabled the MIM to encroach the Musi river and these people have caused the city to drown," he said.
Referring to the incident where an AIMIM MLA, who recently took oath in Bihar Assembly, had raised objection to the word 'Hindustan' to take the oath of office, he said, "They live in Hindustan, eat in Hindustan. But, when it comes to taking oath in the name of Hindustan, they shy away. It exposes the true face of AIMIM."
Yogi then launched an attack on the TRS and AIMIM calling them as "Ek Parivar" and its "Mitra Mandali" looting people. There is no place for the dynastic rule in democracy and asked people to support the BJP in the GHMC elections. Touching upon the most contentious topic in this election - irregularities in flood relief distribution, he said, "If Modiji could make use of technology and transfer money to the poorest via DBT, why has KCR chosen corrupt means and given room to such loot?" He further went on to say that "Under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah repealed Article 370, giving full freedom to the people of Hyderabad and Telangana to purchase land in Jammu and Kashmir."
The UP Chief Minister further listed various central government schemes like the PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi which he said have benefited lakhs in UP but were not being implemented here.
He kickstarted his roadshow from Jeedimetla. Earlier, he garlanded the statue of Alluri Sitarama Raju.
