BJP celebrates Modi’s 25 years in public life
Khammam: BJP on Wednesday organised a ‘Seva Jyothi Yatra’ and a ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalpa Sabha’ in the city to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life and as head of government.
The programmes, organised under the party’s ongoing service-oriented campaign, drew a large number of BJP leaders, workers and women, turning the city’s main roads into a festive scene.
The yatra began at Uma Bhavan on Bose Centre Road near Gandhi Chowk, with party workers carrying saffron flags, service lamps and ceremonial purna kumbham pots. Participants raised slogans in support of Modi as the procession moved through the city.
Women dressed in traditional attire performed kolatam and participated in cultural programmes, attracting the attention of residents who gathered along the roads. BJP leaders highlighted Modi’s political journey from becoming Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001, to becoming Prime Minister in 2014 and subsequently securing mandates in the 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
