Nakrekal: Government Whip and Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham said the state government was committed to accelerating development and welfare programmes in the constituency, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announcing and launching projects worth Rs 339 crore during his visit to Nakrekal.
Addressing a press conference at his camp office in Pannalagudem, Nakrekal, on Sunday, Veeresham said thousands of people attended the Praja Vikasa Sabha held in the town under the Chief Minister’s leadership and extended their support to the government’s 1,000-day administration. He thanked the public, Congress leaders and party workers for making the meeting a success.
The MLA said the government was pursuing development and welfare as its twin priorities. Among the major projects announced or inaugurated in Nakrekal are a 100-bed Government Area Hospital at a cost of Rs 32 crore, a Young India Integrated School costing Rs 200 crore, road works worth Rs 45.60 crore and urban road works in Nakrekal costing Rs 17.50 crore. Other projects include new municipal offices for Nakrekal and Chityala at Rs 12 crore, a government offices complex at Rs 20 crore, a Telangana Public School at Rs 9.85 crore, an Excise office at Rs 1.10 crore and a veterinary hospital at Rs 90 lakh. A cheque for Rs 127 crore was also handed over for the development of women’s self-help groups, he said.
Veeresham said the Chief Minister had assured that necessary funds would be sanctioned to ensure that around 60 tanks are filled through the Asifnagar Canal. Road development works from Nakrekal to Thipparthi and from Kattangur to Nalgonda are also being pursued, along with an underpass at Kattangur.
The Chief Minister had further assured Rs 10 crore for developing the Nakrekal mini stadium, while special measures would soon be taken for the development of the Cheruvugattu temple, the MLA said.
Veeresham highlighted welfare initiatives implemented during the government’s 1,000-day tenure, including new ration cards, supply of fine rice, free bus travel for women, Indiramma houses and free electricity up to 200 units.
He said his priority was to develop Nakrekal constituency in every sector and added that he had requested the Chief Minister to sanction an engineering college for the constituency.
