Gadwal: “Congress government has achieved development in 1,000 days that could not be accomplished during the previous government’s ten-year rule,” said Jogulamba Gadwal District Congress Committee (DCC) president Rajeev Reddy. He alleged that the opposition parties were making baseless accusations as they were unable to tolerate the development being undertaken by the Congress government.

Addressing a press conference at the DCC Praja Bhavan office in the district headquarters on Friday, Reddy said the Congress government had fulfilled nearly 90 per cent of the promises made during the elections. He criticised the previous government, stating that it had failed to deliver significant benefits to the people during its decade-long rule. He said the Congress government had introduced free bus travel for women and sanctioned Indiramma houses. The process of issuing smart ration cards to all eligible beneficiaries had also been taken up, he said. The government had sanctioned crores of rupees for the construction of internal roads in villages and for resolving long-pending problems related to major roads in the mandals, he added.

Rajeev Reddy further said that recruitment notifications had been issued for unemployed youth who had completed higher education and were waiting for government jobs, including posts in the Police and Forest departments. He urged opposition parties to view the government’s development and welfare programmes from the perspective of public welfare rather than political interests. He appealed to the opposition to stop making false allegations and cooperate with the government’s development initiatives. Otherwise, the people themselves would teach them a fitting lesson in the future, he warned. He said people were closely observing the development and welfare schemes being implemented by the Congress government with sincerity.
