District Collector A Shyam Prasad assuming charge as Special Officer of Sri Sathya Sai district Zilla Parishad in Puttaparthi on Friday
Puttaparthi: Sri Sathya Sai district Collector and District Magistrate A Shyam Prasad formally assumed charge as the new Special Officer (SO) of Sri Sathya Sai District Zilla Parishad on Friday.
The term of the elected Zilla Parishad members ended on September 24. In line with the Panchayat Raj Act, the Andhra Pradesh governmentissued GO Ms No 129 dated September 19, 2026, appointing the district Collector as Special Officer to ensure uninterrupted administration and development activities.
Speaking on the occasion,Collector Shyam Prasad said priority would be given to rural development and basic amenities such as drinking water, roads, primary education and healthcare. He assured that ZillaParishad funds would be utilised with complete transparency for public welfare programmes so that there is no delay in service delivery. Suggestions from public representatives would be incorporated in a planned manner.
BC Welfare Minister S Savitha, Puttaparthi MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy, Raptadu MLA Paritala Sunitha, ZPP CEO P Vijayalakshmi, Puttaparthi RDO Suvarna, Panchayat Raj officials and Zilla Parishad staff andothers were present.
