Kurnool: Maintaining a long-standing state tradition during the auspicious Dasara Sharannavaratri festivities, Kurnool District Collector Dr A Siri presented silk clothes to Goddess Jogulamba and Lord Balabrahmeswara Swamy at the historic Alampur temple on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday.

Upon her arrival at the temple, Endowments Department officials and temple priests accorded the District Collector a traditional Poorna Kumbham welcome.

Dr Siri first performed a holy abhishekam to the presiding deity, Lord Balabrahmeswara Swamy, before offering the ceremonial silken robes to Goddess Jogulamba—revered nationwide as the fifth Maha Shakti Peetham—and her divine consort. Following the rituals, Vedic scholars chanted sacred hymns, invoked divine blessings for the state, and presented her with Theertha Prasadam.

Speaking to news reporters after the darshan, Collector Dr Siri noted that the state government has been upholding the sacred custom of presenting silk robes to the deities every year during the annual Brahmotsavams of Goddess Jogulamba.

She extended warm Dasara greetings to the people of Kurnool district and expressed confidence that the divine blessings of the presiding deities would bring immense happiness, good health, and regional prosperity to all citizens.

Endowments Department Assistant Commissioner B Sudhakar Reddy, Alampur Temple Executive Officer Deepti, along with temple priests and administrative staff were present during the sacred ceremony.
