Attack on Christian women in RR dist condemned
Mahabubnagar: Leaders of Christian organisations have strongly condemned the recent attack on Christian women in Almasguda village limits of Maheshwaram mandal in Rangareddy district.
Pastor Dr Varaprasad of Calvary MB Church, Mahabubnagar, expressed concern over the incident and demanded strict action against those responsible.
A special meeting was organised jointly by the Calvary MB Church Council, Mahabubnagar Pastors Fellowship and Dalit Christian leaders under the leadership of Reverend N Varaprasad and others.
The leaders demanded justice for the victims and urged the government to identify those involved in the attack and take stringent legal action against them. They emphasised that everyone should respect the constitutional rights to religious freedom and equality and called upon the government to ensure peaceful coexistence among people of all religions.
As a mark of protest and solidarity with the victims, the Christian leaders announced a peace rally on November 10, starting from Calvary MB Church in Mahabubnagar. They appealed to Christian leaders, pastors and the public to participate in large numbers. M Vidyasagar, Nagaraju, Pastor Rajarathnam and G. Sivakumar were among those present.
