Collector reviews field responsibilities of officers
Mahabubnagar: District Collector Khushboo Gupta directed officials to take immediate action on grievances received through Prajavani. A total of 132 petitions related to various departments were received during the programme held on Monday. The Collector, along with Additional Collector JLB Haripriya, heard the grievances and assured petitioners that their issues would be examined and appropriate action taken.
Reviewing field-level responsibilities of special officers after Prajavani, the Collector directed special officers assigned to mandals and constituencies to visit at least one gram panchayat every week. She said their field responsibilities had assumed greater importance in the absence of the MPTC and ZPTC systems.
The Collector instructed officers to interact with sarpanches, public representatives, panchayat staff and residents to understand local problems instead of treating the visit as a routine inspection.
She also directed officers to visit at least two schools during every village visit, including one residential school and one ZP or primary school. Officials were asked to interact with students, have meals with them where possible and personally assess food quality, accommodation, drinking water, sanitation, staff functioning and other facilities.
Officials were also instructed to visit PHCs, CHCs or sub-centres in the village or mandal headquarters and inspect medicine availability, staff attendance, services provided to patients, drinking water, sanitation and building conditions. Minor issues should be resolved locally, while major issues should be brought to the notice of the DMHO or concerned higher officials.
