Damercherla (Nalgonda): Following an inquiry into allegations of negligence in power generation and other irregularities, GENCO CMD Harish has issued orders suspending Suresh Naik, Chief Engineer of Stage One at the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant (YTPS), near Veerlapalem village in Dameracherla mandal.

Despite instructions to increase electricity production in view of the state’s prevailing power crisis, the Chief Engineer allegedly neglected his duties over the past 15 days. The inquiry also reportedly found that he had played a key role in the illegal transportation of fly ash, which is said to have contributed to the decision to suspend him. To address the difficulties affecting power generation, GENCO CMD Harish has been staying at YTPS for the past three days and personally monitoring electricity production activities. He has reportedly warned that strict action will be taken against officials who neglect their duties.

Meanwhile, Energy Department Chief Secretary Naveen Mittal is also expected to visit the Yadadri Power Plant. The possibility of stringent action against those allegedly involved in irregularities at YTPS has reportedly caused concern among employees.

The visits by both the Energy Department Chief Secretary and the GENCO CMD have triggered a stir within the Yadadri Thermal Power Station.
