Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra on Thursday dismissed as “propaganda” alleged differences within the party, a day after former minister Vishvendra Singh publicly blamed the state and district leadership for the Congress’ performance in the recent urban local body elections in Bharatpur and Deeg.

“There is no discord among us. This is the BJP’s toolkit. The BJP spreads propaganda and tries to show that there are differences within the Congress,” Dotasra told reporters here. He said the Congress is growing stronger in Rajasthan with the support of its workers, senior leaders and people, and asserted that there is proper coordination between the party leadership and its cadre. Dotasra said a person is made the state president of Congress with the support and blessings of its leadership and workers. “The Congress is continuously getting stronger and the BJP will be wiped out in Rajasthan,” he claimed.

His remarks came after Vishvendra Singh, a former minister and member of the erstwhile Bharatpur royal family, targeted Dotasra and the Congress’ Bharatpur and Deeg district presidents in a social media post on Wednesday over the civic poll results. Singh alleged that the two district presidents had distributed tickets to their favourites while sidelining genuine party workers and said voters had responded to this in the elections.
