Dengue cases rise in Nizamabad amid mosquito menace
Nizamabad: Changing weather conditions and stagnant rainwater have triggered a rise in viral fevers and dengue cases across Nizamabad district, with overflowing sewage lines creating mosquito breeding grounds in several areas. Government General Hospital (GGH), Nizamabad, witnessed a sharp increase in patient footfall, recording 2,271 outpatient consultations on September 15 alone.
Official records show 161 dengue cases registered during the past eight months, including 88 cases in August and 52 in September. Between August 1 and September 15, 56 dengue cases were reported across urban health centres covering Nizamabad, Bodhan and Armoor.
Residents and health activists have raised concerns over stagnant water and the alleged lack of fogging operations in Nizamabad city.
