Nizamabad: BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri on Sunday criticises the Congress for targeting the Election Commission of India (ECI) for political gains and says differences of opinion among constitutional authorities are natural in a democracy.
Addressing the media in Nizamabad, Arvind says the ECI is an autonomous constitutional body and rejects Congress allegations of electoral irregularities. He alleges that Congress leaders lack an understanding of the functioning of constitutional institutions.
Targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Arvind alleges that the party’s high-command culture has contributed to leaders leaving the organisation and forming regional parties in several States. He also claims Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy could face similar pressures.
Taking a dig at TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud’s voter registration issue, Arvind says he will help ensure his vote is registered.
