Nizamabad: Water storage in the Sriram Sagar Project (SRSP) has reached 46.654 TMC, according to official figures recorded on Tuesday. The reservoir’s water level stood at 1,080.60 feet, with the project receiving an average inflow of 1,736 cusecs over the past 24 hours.
Against the inflow, project authorities released 2,157 cusecs of water through the project’s main canals and lift irrigation schemes to meet agricultural and drinking water requirements in downstream areas.
Irrigation department officials said water was being actively supplied through the canal network and lift irrigation systems to meet the ongoing needs of farmers and communities in the region. The continued releases are aimed at ensuring adequate water availability for irrigation as well as drinking water requirements in downstream areas.
