Rajamahendravaram: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Best Teacher Awards were presented to 90 best teachers from various schools in East Godavari district at Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram in Rajahmundry on Saturday.
Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, chief guest at the event, highlighted the pivotal role teachers play in shaping students’ character, discipline, and core values.
He reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to strengthening public education, pointing to major infrastructure upgrades, improved sanitation, school kits, and mid-day meal programmes designed to curb dropout rates and match private school standards.
Rajahmundry city MLA Adireddy Srinivas announced plans to conduct DSC exams annually and highlighted local infrastructure investments, including over Rs 1.20 crore raised through CSR funds for municipal schools.
District Collector Kirti Chekuri urged teachers to adopt innovative teaching methods and encourage students in sports and co-curricular activities alongside academics.
Anaparthi MLA Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy, Joint Collector Y Megha Swaroop, Assistant Collector Aditya Sharma, District School Education Officer K Vasudeva Rao and other officials attended the grand ceremony, which concluded with vibrant cultural performances by students.
