Tirupati: Inspecting ground preparations to guarantee seamless festival operations, Municipal Corporation Commissioner M Jayakrishna visited Vinayaka Sagar on Monday night to review arrangements for Ganesha idol immersions.

Reviewing the first day of immersion proceedings, Commissioner Jayakrishna instructed officials to ensure that all civic facilities are provided in a foolproof manner so that devotees face zero inconvenience.

He placed strong emphasis on hygiene, directing workforces to maintain rigorous cleanliness, regularly remove waste from the water, and provide adequate lighting, safe drinking water, and toilet facilities.

To manage vehicular congestion, the Commissioner ordered strengthened traffic management along procession routes, urging the deployment of sufficient staff at critical junctions.

Prioritizing safety, Jayakrishna directed the stationing of lifeboats with trained swimmers, thorough mechanical checks on heavy immersion cranes, and uninterrupted power supplies at the site.

Noting that significantly larger crowds are expected on the third day, he urged extra vigilance and inter-departmental coordination.

Prominent figures present during the inspection included TTD Board member Bhanuprakash Reddy, Deputy Commissioner Amaraiah, Health Officer Dr Yuva Anvesh Reddy, Varasidhi Vinayaka Nimajjana Committee Convenor Samanchi Srinivas, and committee member Gundala Gopinath Reddy.
