Srisailam: Spiritual fervor gripped the ancient Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple on Monday as the shrine observed special religious proceedings on the ninth day of the ongoing Sri Devi Sharannavaratri celebrations.

As part of the Navadurga Alankaram, the processional deity of Goddess Bhramaramba was adorned in the sacred attire of Siddhidayini Devi.

Depicted with four arms holding a discus, mace, conch, and lotus, the Goddess is worshipped by devotees seeking the Ashta Siddhis—the eight spiritual accomplishments. The morning and evening proceedings featured sacred rituals including Kumkumarchana, Navavarana Archana, Chandi Homam, Rudra Homam, Vedic recitations, and Surya Namaskarams. Kumari Puja, a pivotal Navaratri custom involving the adoration of young girls with flowers, fruits, and new clothes, was also performed.

In the evening, processional deities Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bhramaramba were beautifully decorated and taken on the Kailasa Vahanam. Night-time observances included Asthana Seva, Suvasini Puja, and Kalaratri Puja.

Meanwhile, temple authorities have finalized elaborate arrangements for Vijayadashami celebrations on Tuesday, October 20.

Morning rituals will feature special pujas starting at 6 am, followed by the Purnahuti of Shata Chandi Yagam at 9:15 am and Rudra Yagam at 10 am. The evening schedule includes the Goddess’s Nija Roopa Darshan, Nandi Vahana Seva, temple Utsavam, Shami Puja at 7 pm, and the grand Teppotsavam (float festival) at 8 pm.
