Majestic Hamsa Vahanam Seva held along four Mada streets in Tirumala
Tirumala: On the second night of the ongoing Srivari Navaratri Brahmotsavams on Tuesday, Lord Sri Malayappa Swamy blessed thousands of devotees on the Hamsa Vahanam, beautifully adorned in the attire of Goddess Saraswathi holding a veena in His hands. The divine appearance of the Lord as the celestial embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, and learning enthralled visiting pilgrims gathered along the four Mada Streets. Vibrant cultural performances presented by artiste groups hailing from various states added immense splendour and color to the grand procession. According to traditional beliefs, the swan symbolizes spiritual discernment and higher knowledge due to its mythological ability to separate milk from water, representing the capacity to distinguish truth from illusion. Sacred Upanishads describe spiritually enlightened souls as Paramahamsas.
