Nara Lokesh, Singapore Minister Offer Prayers at Tirumala
Nara Lokesh, the Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT, visited the shrine of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy—the presiding deity of Tirumala—this morning (Tuesday) alongside Singapore's Home Minister K. Shanmugam. Minister Lokesh had welcomed Singapore Home Minister K. Shanmugam upon his arrival in Tirumala last night (Monday) for the pilgrimage.
Subsequently, this morning, Shanmugam was escorted to the sanctum sanctorum with due honors for the darshan of the Lord. TTD Executive Officer Muddada Ravichandra and the temple priests extended a warm welcome to them. Both dignitaries offered prayers to the Lord together. Afterward, at the Ranganayakula Mandapam, Vedic scholars offered blessings and presented the Lord's *theertha-prasadam* (consecrated offerings) to them.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the Tirupati airport on Monday night, Minister Lokesh was accorded a grand welcome by local TDP public representatives and party leaders. This afternoon, Minister Lokesh is scheduled to travel from Tirupati to Renigunta Airport and depart for Kerala on a special flight.
