District Collector S Venkateswar felicitating Panchayat officials in Tirupati on Saturday
Narasingapuram village panchayat in Chandragiri mandal has received ISO 41001 certification for its systems in infrastructure and facility management, public services and rural governance.
The panchayat took several measures to strengthen the management of public assets and facilities after the initial ISO audit.
These included maintaining asset records, preventive maintenance schedules, grievance redressal systems, water quality monitoring, sanitation, electricity management, health and education services, digital services and financial records.
As part of the process, the panchayat created a digital inventory of its assets and introduced maintenance logs and registers for water testing and chlorination, waste collection, electricity management, health services, school sanitation inspections, farmer services and IT assets.
Records related to tax collection and utilisation of grants were also streamlined.
The panchayat serves 755 families with daily collection of wet and dry waste. It also produces vermicompost from organic waste. All households have functional tap water connections, while LED streetlights have been provided in all habitations. The panchayat has 1.68 km of cement concrete roads along with facilities such as an Ayushman Arogya Mandir, schools, anganwadi centres and a Rythu Seva Kendra.
In coordination with the Swarna Gramam (Secretariat) system, 32 types of public services are being provided at the village level.
The panchayat is also focusing on digital services, SLA-based grievance redressal and transparent financial management.
Officials said the ISO 41001 certification recognises the panchayat’s efforts in sustainable infrastructure management, protection of public assets, transparent administration and delivery of quality public services.
District Collector Dr S Venkateswar congratulated District Panchayat Officer D Suseela Devi, Chandragiri Deputy MPDO Venkataratnam, Narasingapuram Panchayat Development Officer Nagendra and other staff for their role in the development of the panchayat.
