One dead, four injured after car falls off bridge

Tirupati:A road accident near Jalaripalle in Baireddipalle mandal claimed the life of a 46-year-old man and left four others seriously injured on Wednesday, after the car in which they were travelling plunged from a bridge on Madanapalle-Krishnagiri National Highway.
The deceased was identified as Taufiq Ilahi, a resident of Tiruchengode in Tamil Nadu. He was driving the car when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle while proceeding towards Chittoor. The four other occupants — Abdul Rehman, Mohammed Zarat, Daulat Haji and Anifa Haji — suffered serious injuries in the accident. On hearing the crash, locals rushed to the spot and rescued the injured.
The victims were shifted to Government Hospital in Palamaner for treatment. Their condition was reported to be serious. Baireddipalle police registered a case and began an investigation into the circumstances that led to the accident.
SI Chandana Priya said the five persons were travelling from Tiruchengode to Chittoor when the car went out of control and fell off the bridge.
