Police assist elderly, disabled voters in ZPTC-MPTC polls
Tirupati: District police provided special support to elderly, disabled and mobility-impaired voters during Thursday’s ZPTC and MPTC elections. Acting on SP L Subba Rayudu’s directions, police personnel were deployed at polling centres across the district. Officers identified those needing help, guided them through crowds, held their hands where required and escorted them safely to the booths.
The initiative ensured age, disability or limited mobility did not stop anyone from exercising their democratic right. Police stressed that voting is a constitutional right that must remain accessible to all. While maintaining security, officers offered humane, respectful assistance throughout the day, combining election duties with social responsibility so every citizen could vote freely, safely and comfortably.
