Native Table founder Mulpuri Charita donating brown eggs to Little Hope Trust for distribution to underprivileged children in Vijayawada on Friday
Vijayawada: Native Table founder Mulpuri Charita has donated 10,000 brown eggs during September to support the nutritional needs of underprivileged children being served by the Little Hope Trust.
As part of the initiative, 3,000 eggs were distributed on Friday among children in Punadipadu, Poranki, Tadepalli, Vambay Colony, YSR Colony and other vulnerable slum communities. The initiative aims to supplement the nutritional needs of children from economically disadvantaged families.
Little Hope Trust operates 44 evening tuition centres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, providing educational support to children from waste-picking families, migrant communities, begging communities and other marginalised sections. The Trust said many of the children face nutritional deficiencies and attend school without adequate breakfast.
Eggs are a source of protein, vitamin B12 and other essential nutrients and can contribute to the physical growth and overall well-being of children. The Trust expressed gratitude to Charita and Native Table for supporting its child welfare and nutrition initiatives. It also appealed to individuals, businesses and philanthropic organisations to support its Breakfast and Evening Nutrition Programmes.
The Trust said contributions in the form of food items such as wheat semolina, chickpeas, peanuts, ragi, jaggery, bananas and biscuits, besides educational materials and tarpaulins, would help sustain its programmes and support children from vulnerable communities.
