Vijayawada: The TDP-BJP-Jana Sena alliance has chalked out a coordinated strategy to ensure the victory of its candidates in the upcoming civic elections, with a particular focus on securing Vijayawada Mayor’s post for its nominee, Vangaveeti Radha Krishna.
Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni), Swachha Andhra Corporation Chairman Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram, former MLC and senior TDP leader Buddha Venkanna, and Mayor candidate Vangaveeti Radha Krishna met at the MP’s office in Vijayawada on Monday to discuss election strategy, ward-wise campaigning and measures to ensure the victory of alliance candidates.
Speaking after the meeting, Kesineni Chinni said Radha Krishna’s candidature had generated enthusiasm among alliance leaders and cadre. The Vangaveeti family had a distinct political legacy and strong recognition in Vijayawada, he said, adding that Radha Krishna was a suitable candidate for the Mayor’s post.
Chinni expressed the hope that Radha Krishna would win by a majority of around two lakh votes. He said alliance leaders and workers would jointly campaign in every ward from Tuesday to secure the victory of all candidates.
“Our target is to achieve a 100% strike rate in the elections,” the MP said, adding that the ward-wise candidate list had been finalised and the alliance did not anticipate any rebel-candidate problems. He said leaders, who had aspired for party tickets but had not been accommodated, would be consulted and taken along. Those, who had worked hard for the parties, would also be given due consideration, he added. Stating that public service was the alliance’s primary objective, Chinni said the leaders would work together towards their common goal.
Vangaveeti Radha Krishna said he had discussed election strategies and campaign plans with alliance leaders to ensure the victory of alliance candidates. He said the Vangaveeti family enjoyed a strong reputation in Vijayawada politics and added that he would coordinate with alliance leaders and candidates to work towards their success. Buddha Venkanna and Pattabhi Ram also participated in discussions on campaign planning, coordination among alliance partners and mobilisation of party leaders and workers at the ward level.
