Vijayawada: The Dr Gokaraju Laila Gangaraju Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) Cricket Ground at Mulapadu near Vijayawada is set to host an exciting Ranji Trophy encounter between Andhra and Karnataka from October 11 to 14. Both teams are intensifying their preparations for the four-day match, which has drawn added attention with the arrival of Indian star cricketer KL Rahul in Vijayawada.

Players from both sides are undergoing rigorous practice sessions, focusing on delivering strong performances in the prestigious domestic tournament. The training sessions are aimed at improving batting technique, bowling accuracy and fielding agility, while also preparing players for the demands of the longer format.

Special attention is being given to spending time at the crease, maintaining the right line and length while bowling, and improving reflexes and coordination on the field. Players are also working on concentration, patience and adapting their strategies to match situations.

Karnataka’s squad features experienced players, including KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair, adding to the anticipation surrounding the contest. Andhra, meanwhile, will look to make the most of home conditions and put up a strong challenge against the visitors.

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) is making arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the match. Preparations include pitch maintenance, ground readiness, facilities for players and other technical requirements associated with the tournament.

The organisers have clarified that spectators will not be allowed into the ground to watch the match. The police department is making stringent security arrangements around the venue to ensure the smooth conduct of the game and prevent unauthorised entry.

The ACA and the police are coordinating their efforts to ensure that the Andhra-Karnataka encounter proceeds smoothly from October 11 to 14.
