Assam CM invited to Vijayawada Dasara fete

Vijayawada: Minister for health, medical and family welfare Y Satya Kumar Yadav and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) personally invited Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to attend the Vijayawada Dasara Sarannavaratri celebrations and visit the Sri Kanaka Durga temple on Indrakeeladri.

During their visit to Assam on Thursday, the minister and MP met Himanta Biswa Sarma and explained the significance of the Vijayawada Dasara celebrations. They handed over the invitation for the Navaratri festivities and requested him to seek the blessings of Sri Kanaka Durga Devi and participate in the celebrations.

The minister and MP also invited the Assam Chief Minister to attend the ‘Vijayawada Utsav’, which is being organised to showcase the city’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage at the national level. They explained that the event would highlight the religious significance of the Sri Kanaka Durga temple as well as Vijayawada’s cultural identity.

They said the Dasara celebrations and Vijayawada Utsav would provide an opportunity to showcase the city’s spiritual and cultural heritage to visitors from across the country.

Satya Kumar Yadav and Sivanath also met Assam health minister Ashok Singhal and chief secretary Dr Ravi Kota and invited them to the Vijayawada Dasara celebrations and Vijayawada Utsav.

The MP has been taking initiatives to promote Vijayawada as a major destination for spiritual and cultural tourism. Various programmes are being planned during the Dasara festivities to offer devotees and tourists an opportunity to experience the city’s cultural heritage along with its spiritual significance.
