Vijayawada: The NTR District Police Commissionerate has made elaborate arrangements for vehicle parking and traffic regulation in view of the Dasara Sarannavaratri festivities at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada from October 11 to 20. The arrangements will come into force from the night of October 10.

In a press release issued here on Friday, NTR District Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu said more than 40 parking areas had been identified at various locations across the city to facilitate devotees visiting the temple during the 10-day festivities.

QR code scanning facilities will be provided at traffic diversion points to help visitors identify designated parking areas. Devotees can also use the ASTraM Citizen app to check the live availability of parking spaces and access navigation facilities. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras will monitor vehicle movement at all 40-plus parking areas, he said.

Special traffic diversions will be implemented on Moola Nakshatram day to facilitate the movement of devotees visiting Goddess Kanaka Durga. Traffic will be regulated at Kummaripalem, Lodge Outpost, Kanaka Durga Flyover, Gadda Bomma Centre and the Old Police Control Room Junction.

Devotees were advised to use QR codes and the ASTraM Citizen app to avoid inconvenience. For Vijayawada city residents: Ganesh Immersion Ram, Kaleswara Rao Market, Railway West Booking Office, Tarapet, Gandhi Municipal High School, Gadda Bomma Centre, Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, Canal Road, Rythu Bazaar on Canal Road, E-3 Food Court, opposite the RTC Ingate, FCI Godown, Kanaka Durga Flyover near the CNG bunk and Boddurayi Centre. For visitors arriving from Hyderabad and Guntur via Nallakunta and Kaza Toll Plaza, including those visiting the SARAS Ajeevika Mela: Head Water Works, Lotus private site, Berm Park, Bhavanipuram, APCOST, Babburi Grounds, Anna Kalyanamandapam, Swarna 40 Lorry Stand, Shadikhana, Soma Grounds, RTC Hospital site, Vega private site, Vijayawada Utsav site, Venkateswara Punyakshetram, TTD ground, Swathi Centre, Punnami Ghat and CM Convention Centre. For devotees arriving from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Eluru, Machilipatnam and Guntur via Varadhi, as well as local residents: Parking facilities will be available from Padavala Revu to Anjaneya Swamy Temple, at the FCI Godown, from Madhuranagar to Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Madhuranagar Food Junction, from Food Junction to Sarada College Junction, from Sarada College to Seethannapet Junction, Railway Quarters, Gymkhana Ground and Music College. For visitors attending Vijayawada Utsav at the Makineni Basavapunnaiah Municipal Corporation Stadium in Ajit Singh Nagar, parking facilities will be available at Disneyland parking area and Excel Plant Road.
