Vijayawada: The AP JAC Amaravati has welcomed the state government’s decision to constitute the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) as part of the assurances given by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during discussions with employee associations on September 5.

In a statement issued on Thursday, AP JAC Amaravati chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, secretary general Palishetti Damodara Rao, associate chairman TV Phani Perraju and treasurer Timmarsathi Nageswara Rao said the issuance of GO Ms No. 200 appointing the PRC was a welcome development. However, they expressed concern that the commission had been given one year to submit its report.

They said employees could face financial loss due to the delay and urged the government to ensure that the report was submitted within six months by making effective use of available technology and data. The leaders said the government had implemented key assurances, including release of two DAs, restoration of the additional quantum of pension and constitution of the 12th PRC, within a month.

They thanked the Chief Minister and the state government for responding positively to employees’ demands. They also welcomed GO No. 131, issued on September 28, providing for the government’s contribution towards the Employees Health Scheme (EHS) to be deposited directly with the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust along with the employees’ contribution.

They urged the authorities to address possible technical issues to ensure smooth implementation. The JAC leaders appealed to the government to hold regular discussions on pending financial and non-financial issues concerning employees, teachers, workers, pensioners and contract and outsourcing personnel.

Meanwhile, APNGGOs Association president A Vidyasagar and general secretary D V Ramana welcomed the appointment of retired IAS officer Dinesh Kumar as chairman of the 12th PRC. They said the appointment would facilitate the commencement of the pay revision process. Vidyasagar said the government had filled the vacant post following the resignation of Dr Manmohan Singh, who was earlier appointed PRC chairman.

He thanked the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, finance minister and chief secretary for issuing orders on the assurances given on September 5. The APNGGOs leaders also urged the government to ensure regular funding for the EHS, clear pending dues to referral hospitals and address the issues of contract and outsourcing employees.
