Ex-MLA seeks action against ACP

Vijayawada: Former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan, along with his advocate Dr V Devi Satya Sri, met NTR District Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu on Wednesday and submitted a complaint seeking action against Central Zone ACP Damodar over alleged police interference in a private property dispute.

Later, Vamsi told the media that several cases had been registered against him and his associates under the ruling coalition government’s “Red Book”. He said they viewed the cases as political vendetta and were facing them legally. However, he alleged that police were also harassing his advocate despite the property issue having no political connection.

Referring to the property issue involving his advocate Satya Sri, Vamsi alleged that ACP Damodar was not the investigating officer in the case but had frequently intervened and allegedly threatened her. He alleged that two cases had been registered against Satya Sri even though, according to him, the site was occupied by a neighbour.

According to Satya Sri’s complaint, her family purchased Plot No 106 in Vijayawada through registered documents in 2021. She alleged that a neighbour subsequently interfered with the property and attempted to prevent construction of a compound wall.

She alleged that Crime No 402/2025 was registered on November 17, 2025, based on the neighbour’s complaint. Citing an RTI response, she claimed that the complainant had not submitted title documents, ownership papers or an Encumbrance Certificate when the case was registered. She further alleged that no boundary measurement, plot-dimension verification or survey was conducted before registering the case.

Satya Sri also alleged that her 80-year-old father-in-law, a practising doctor with no connection to the property work, was made an accused. She said she had approached the High Court against alleged police interference and pressure for a private settlement and claimed that in WP No 32225/2025, the court directed police not to interfere in the civil dispute.

In her latest complaint, Satya Sri alleged that ACP Damodar visited Plot No 106 with police personnel on September 8 while she was attending court proceedings at Gannavaram.
