Indrakeeladri ghat road to be closed for a week
Vijayawada: Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam Executive Officer VK Seena Naik has said that the Indrakeeladri Ghat Road will remain completely closed for a week from the morning of September 22 to facilitate repair works ahead of the Dasara festivities.
In a press statement issued here on Monday, he said the repairs were being taken up to ensure better facilities and smooth movement of devotees during the Dasara celebrations.
During the closure period, devotees would have to reach the temple through the Kanaka Durga Nagar route, he added.
The EO said devotees arriving from Hyderabad could park their vehicles at Punnami Ghat and use the free bus services arranged by the temple authorities to reach the temple. Similarly, devotees arriving from Visakhapatnam, Chennai and other areas towards One Town were advised to park their vehicles at the holding area near Seethammavari Padalu and travel to the temple in the free buses arranged by the Devasthanam.
Seena Naik said free transportation facilities would be available between the designated parking areas and the temple throughout the week.
He appealed to devotees to make use of the facility and cooperate with the temple authorities during the repair works.
