Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh has earned a distinction in the sporting arena with Yalamanchili Srikanth, General Secretary of the Andhra Kabaddi Association, being nominated as a Technical Official for the 20th Asian Games, scheduled to be held at Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4.
The Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) nominated Srikanth for the prestigious assignment in recognition of his services and contribution to the promotion and development of kabaddi. Following the announcement of his nomination, Minister for Mines and Geology and Excise Kollu Ravindra, Minister for Transport and Sports Ram Prasad Reddy, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni), Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rama Mohan Rao, Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and Mylavaram MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad congratulated Srikanth and appreciated his achievement. Andhra Kabaddi Association President KV Prabhavathi, Working President Arjuna Rao Nakkala and Senior Joint Secretary KV Nancharaiah also congratulated Srikanth and lauded his contribution to the development of kabaddi in the State.
