Visakhapatnam: In a tragic industrial accident, a contract worker suffered serious burns when hot molten liquid spilled over him at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

The molten liquid, which was 150 degrees Celsius, spilled on the contract worker, identified as Demudu, a native of Vizianagaram district.

Demudu was immediately shifted to a hospital and is undergoing treatment. He received 90 percent burn injuries. According to doctors, his condition is critical.

Meanwhile, trade union leaders pointed out that even after repeated requests, the VSP management fails to focus on safety concerns. They criticised the management's continued negligence, emphasizing it as a primary reason for repeated accidents at the plant, which pose a serious risk to the workers and employees on duty.

Recurring industrial accidents raise safety concerns at the plant.
