Visakhapatnam: Punjab National Bank (PNB) organised an agriculture outreach programme at Mandapeta in Dr B R Ambedkar Konaseema district. Attended by Shyam Sunder Singh, general manager (Agri), PNB HO, Vandana Pandey, zonal manager, Hyderabad and Ratish Kumar Singh, circle head, Visakhapatnam, SVV Satyanarayana Reddy, secretary, Rice Millers Association and V. Veerabhadra Rao, vice president, among others, the programme saw participation from 50 rice millers from the region. During the interaction, senior PNB officials apprised the rice millers about various banking and financing schemes available for agricultural activities and discussed the specific financial requirements of the rice milling sector. A key highlight of the programme was the recently approved Rice Mill Cluster Financing initiative, covering the important rice milling centres of Mandapeta, Kakinada, Amalapuram, Pithapuram and Tanuku. Under the initiative, eligible rice millers can avail finance at attractive interest rates and with reduced service charges, providing enhanced support for their working capital and other financial requirements. The rice millers appreciated PNB’s proactive approach of reaching out directly to the industry and welcomed the bank’s initiatives aimed at supporting the rice milling sector.
Through focused cluster-based financing, direct engagement with stakeholders and customer-centric financial solutions, PNB remains committed to empowering the agri-business ecosystem, supporting the growth of rice milling enterprises and contributing to the overall economic development of the region.
