VIIT is organising a national-level ‘Vignan’s Grand Prix 2026 Go-Karting Championship’ from September 28 at the campus
Visakhapatnam: Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology (Autonomous), Duvvada, Visakhapatnam is set to organise a national-level ‘Vignan’s Grand Prix 2026 (season 1) Go-Karting Championship’ from September 28 to October 1 at the VIIT campus.
Organised by the department of mechanical engineering, the championship aims to provide engineering students a platform to showcase their skills in automobile engineering, vehicle design, fabrication, innovation, teamwork and motorsport, while gaining hands-on experience in conceiving, designing, building, testing, and racing go-karts.
The event carries the theme ‘where engineering meets adrenaline’ and promotes practical learning, technical excellence, creativity and competitive spirit. The championship is supported by Sri Shiva Lohitha Constructions Pvt. Ltd and RSR Motopark and Monster Energy.
On the occasion, J Sudhakar, Principal, V Madhusudhana Rao, Rector, S Ramababu, head of the department of mechanical engineering; and Girish Bhiogade, Associate Professor, appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of experiential learning and practical exposure for engineering students.
