Visakhapatnam: In a major relief to airport employees and passengers, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) introduced an attractive monthly pass facility for Aero Express AC bus services connecting Old Gajuwaka with Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport. As part of the initiative, commuters can travel for 30 days by paying an amount equivalent to a 10-day fare. The endeavour is expected to ease travel for regular commuters by reducing their transportation expenses and making airport trips more convenient. APSRTC Visakhapatnam Regional Manager B. Appala Naidu mentioned that airport employees and passengers can obtain monthly season passes at the counter located in the airport’s arrival block. “To facilitate the distribution of passes for the staff, the counter will remain operational for the purpose on the 10th, 11th and 12th of every month,” he informed, encouraging passengers to make use of the concessionary facility. At present, 10 Aero Express AC buses operate daily between Old Gajuwaka and the Bhogapuram Airport via the National Highway. Another 10 buses run between Old Gajuwaka and the Railway Station Bus Station via Beach Road, providing convenient connectivity to important locations across the city.

Passengers can also download the APSRTC mobile application to check bus timings and track the locations of the buses. RTC officials said that the services had been operating punctually, with delays not exceeding 15 minutes so far. The monthly pass fares vary based on the boarding point, while the general pass is priced at Rs 7,000, while passes for Gurudwara and IT Hills junction cost Rs 6,000 and Rs 5,000, respectively. Commuters travelling from Tagarapuvalasa can obtain a pass for Rs 2,000, while the fare for Anandapuram is Rs 3,000.

RTC officials informed that monthly passes could also be obtained at bus stations across the city.
