Participants at the ‘Smart India Hackathon’ (SIH) 2026 at the college campus
Visakhapatnam: The Institution’s Innovation Council (MVGR-IIC), MVGR College of Engineering (Autonomous), conducted the ‘Smart India Hackathon’ (SIH) 2026 – Internal Hackathon, providing students a platform to develop innovative, technology-driven solutions to real-world challenges. A total of 76 teams were found eligible, with 60 teams submitting solution presentations addressing 46 problem statements across diverse domains. 50 Teams, including waitlisted teams, were shortlisted for further progression in the SIH process.
Addressing participants, YMC Sekhar, Principal of the college, encouraged students to strengthen critical thinking, adaptability and innovation skills. R Ramesh, Provost, urged students to transform promising ideas into viable startups and highlighted the institutional support available for entrepreneurship.
M Siva Subramanyam, president-MVGR-IIC, faculty mentors and students participated in the event. The IIC team and faculty mentors supported students in ideation, evaluation, mentoring and refinement of their solutions.
