Errabelli leads BRS women’s protest against Congress over 1,000-day performance

WARANGAL: As the Congress government completed 1,000 days in power, BRS leaders alleged that it has failed to deliver on key promises to the people, continuing protests for the third day under the party’s banner. On Thursday, women-led “Vantavarpu” (cook-and-serve) programmes were held at Rayaparthy in Warangal district and Thorruru mandal headquarters in Mahabubabad district.
The events were conducted under the aegis of former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, with participation from his wife and Errabelli Charitable Trust chairperson Usha Dayakar Rao, along with BRS women leaders, workers and local residents.
Allegations on unfulfilled guarantees
Speaking at the gathering, Errabelli Dayakar Rao said the Congress regime has done nothing substantial for the people of the state in its first 1,000 days. He accused the government of failing to implement its much-publicised “six guarantees,” particularly those concerning women.
He highlighted unfulfilled promises such as:
Monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500 to women
Distribution of scooties to women
Provision of laptops to students and other beneficiaries
According to him, these commitments remain on paper and have not reached the intended beneficiaries.
Criticism over welfare schemes
Errabelli further alleged that the Congress government is neglecting welfare schemes that were functional under the previous BRS dispensation, including:
Kalyana Lakshmi
Shadi Mubarak
KCR Kit
Enhanced pensions for senior citizens, single women and persons with disabilities
He claimed that during the BRS rule, several measures were implemented for the welfare of women, the elderly, differently-abled persons and other sections of society.
Praise for KCR’s vision
The former minister said former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) had a clear vision for women’s welfare. He credited KCR’s leadership for initiatives like Kalyana Lakshmi, KCR Kit and pension hikes, which he said provided strong support to vulnerable groups.
Expressing confidence in BRS’s return to power, Errabelli stated that the Congress government has only two more years left, after which Telangana would once again be ruled by BRS under KCR’s leadership.
“Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak and similar welfare schemes must continue. If the Congress fails to do so, the people will teach it a lesson,” he warned, adding that “KCR’s rule is the real safeguard for Telangana.”
District and mandal-level BRS leaders, women leaders, party workers and local people participated in the protests.
