Hanumakonda: Former Deputy Chief Minister and Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari has requested that Warangal region be given a special place and top priority and special initiatives be taken to develop it further industrially.

Kadiyam Srihari, who has been serving as the panel speaker for the past three days as part of the Telangana Legislative Assembly sessions, brought the industrial importance of Warangal district to the attention of the government during the question and answer session on Friday. He reminded that the government has already declared Hyderabad-Warangal National Highway-163 as an industrial corridor.

Kadiyam Srihari said that Warangal has all the necessary advantages for the industrial development of a region. He said that since the Godavari River flows through Warangal district, there is sufficient water availability for industries and there are abundant power generation resources.

In addition, he said that there are vast coal mines, iron ore availability and the prestigious Mega Textile Park is located in Warangal.

Kadiyam said that global connectivity will increase further with the airport coming up in Warangal city very soon. Keeping all these opportunities in mind, he urged the government to formulate special plans to establish new industries in Warangal district and to take steps to attract multinational companies. Legislative Affairs and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu responded to the issues raised by Kadiyam Srihari.

He assured the Assembly that the government would soon and expeditiously take all necessary measures and assistance to develop the Hyderabad-Warangal National Highway into a full-fledged industrial corridor.
