Hanumakonda: District Collector Chahat Bajpai has announced a new Integrated Gravel Management System (IGMS) to curb illegal gravel mining and simplify the process of obtaining permits for small quantities of gravel. Applicants submitting requests through the online portal can receive permits within three to five days.

Launching the portal at the Collectorate on Monday, she said it had been developed in coordination with the Centre for Good Governance. Applicants can register using their mobile numbers and OTPs before submitting land details and supporting documents.

Applications will be scrutinised by Revenue officials, with Irrigation Department inspections required for silt collection from water bodies. Following an NOC and necessary field inspections, permits will be issued at district level.

Each approved permit will carry a QR code containing details of the quantity, source, destination, validity and authorised vehicles. Gram Panchayats will monitor transportation trips, while a share of the fees will be allocated to them.

The Collector clarified that the portal covers only gravel permits, not sand transportation, and urged people to use the system to avoid illegal mining.
