Hanumakonda: State Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday inaugurated Rs 13-crore BT road project from Madipalli to Elkathurthi Junction, stating that the initiative would boost connectivity and accelerate development in Elkathurthi mandal.

The project is being undertaken by the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA). Addressing a gathering at Elkathurthi Junction, the Minister said the new road would improve transportation between villages and the mandal headquarters, benefiting residents and supporting economic growth.

He said Elkathurthi was set to witness rapid development with the establishment of a court, an electricity substation and a Tahsildar’s office. Ponnam Prabhakar urged officials, public representatives and residents to cooperate for the timely completion of the project and directed authorities to speed up the works.

KUDA Chairman Inagala Venkat Ram Reddy said the road would strengthen connectivity and contribute to the development of surrounding villages. Later, the Minister inspected the Elkathurthi-Damera road and instructed officials to ensure smooth traffic flow during project execution.

Earlier, he paid floral tributes to former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram on his death anniversary.
