Woman sets husband on fire over family disputes in TN
A woman has set her husband on fire by pouring petrol on him as he was addicted to alcohol and use to harass her for money.
Chennai: A woman has set her husband on fire by pouring petrol on him as he was addicted to alcohol and use to harass her for money. In the incident, the husband sustained severe burnt injuries and was shifted to the hospital for treatment. Going into detail, Senthil (36) a native of Viluppuram district works as construction labour and got married to Chitra (32).
The couple has two sons. Senthil has become addicted to alcohol and due to which the couple gets into an argument regularly. On Tuesday when Chitra went to work, Senthil was alone in the house, and he sold her ornaments and consumed liquor.
When she returned from work, her ornaments went missing. With this, she confronted her husband, which led to a heated argument. While Senthil felt asleep, Chitra took the petrol from his bike and poured on him and lighted.
As the flames spread, he began to scream. The locals who noticed him came to rescue and rushed to the hospital for the treatment. On receiving the information police booked a case and investigating further.
